OUR HISTORY

We are a remnant from something old to something new.  A small group of believers that has stepped out on faith and obedience to accomplish the mission that God has set forth for us to do.

We, the Morning Star Christian Church, began this journey January 2012, located in Jefferson, Texas. This journey from the start was birth into our spirit and to this date has been fueled from faith.  We believe the Word stands for itself and we are just carriers of the Word of God.  God birthed this ministry immediately after the closure of another ministry.  The vision for this new ministry was cast, and a small group of believers grasp the vision and thus birth this new ministry that God has since been blessing and keeping.

The name Morning Star Christian Church came about in a vision to the Senior Pastor one morning during his morning devotion.  God gave him the name Morning Star, because the morning star is derived from Jesus himself when He said, "I am the Bright and Morning Star."  It is the first and the brightest star that herolds the daylight to come forth.  Also Jesus is not only the Morning Star, but also the Day Star according to 2 Peter 1:19 and Revelations 22:16.  Just as Jesus is the Light of the World, we are in this ministry to tell about this Light to a dying, dark world.  Though derived from Baptist teaching and upbringing, we are not calling this ministry Baptist or any other denomination.  We want all to feel welcome, so therefore since we have to carry a title, why not the title, "Christian", a name derived from Christ Himself.
