OUR PASTOR
Reverend James E. Bowie Sr. accepted his calling into the Gospel Ministry and preaced his first sermon in December 1993, at Red Oak Missionary Baptist Chuch, Longview, Texas under the Leadership of Pastor H. C. Rockmore, and has since then been proclaiming the Gospel of Christ. After receiving his Ordination he was called to Mt Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church in Jefferson, Texas, where he pastored for 16 years. Rev Bowie is married to Doris Bowie and recenly celebated their 34th Anniversary September 2012, and to this union they have three children, which all are grown. Rev Bowie has accepted the challenge to be the Under-Shepherd of Morning Star Christian Church, as of January 2012. Our motto here is, "We've Come This Far By Faith."
OUR CHURCH
We are a remnant from something old to something new. A small group of believers that has stepped out on faith and obedience to accomplish the mission that God has set forth for us to do.
We, the Morning Star Christian Church began ths journey January 2012, located in Jefferson, Texas. This journey from the start was birth into our spirit and to this date has been fueled from faith. We believe the Word stands for itself and we are just carriers of the Word of God. God birthed this ministry immediately after the closure of another ministry. The vision for this new ministry was cast and a small group of believers grasp the vision and thus birth this new ministry that God has since been blessing and keeping.
